About
The Independent Shop Behind the Beach Line
No franchise. No call center. Just techs who know what salt does to refrigeration, because we live where it does it.
Sub-Zero Atlantic Beach is an independent repair company — no affiliation with the manufacturer, no franchise badge, no national dispatch desk. We work Sub-Zero refrigeration exclusively, in Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach, where salt air sets the repair calendar. Every diagnosis ends in a flat written quote before any work starts.
For Sub-Zero repair in Atlantic Beach or Neptune Beach, call (904) 650-0561 or book online.
What independent actually means
It means we answer to the person whose kitchen we are standing in, and nobody else. It also means honesty about the boundary: we are not factory certified, and units from the 2022-and-newer CL and DET generation are usually still under warranty — those belong with Sub-Zero Factory Certified Service first. We say that on the phone, for free, because sending you to the right door costs us a job and earns us a neighbor.
Everything outside the warranty fence is ours: the BI-series boards that brownouts kill, the 600-series classics still running in remodeled cottages, the gaskets that beach humidity eats in three years, and the maintenance no warranty ever covered.
The deal, in plain terms
- Diagnosis first, number second. You get a written flat quote before a panel comes off. No hourly meter, no surprise math at the end.
- Stocked for the beach. Gaskets, water inlet valves, fan motors, and thermistors for BI and 600-series units ride in the van by default — because that is what 32233 and 32266 break.
- OEM parts, documented work. What went in, what it cost, what we found. Paper you can hand to the next owner of the house.
- Straight answers either way. If a repair is not worth the money, we say so and show the arithmetic.
Why one brand, and why these two towns
Specialization is the whole trick. Sub-Zero builds refrigeration like nobody else, fails like nobody else, and rewards a tech who sees the same dozen failure modes weekly instead of yearly. We chose the beaches for the same reason: the corridor from the Mayport jetties down through the Beaches Town Center into Neptune Beach has the heaviest salt exposure in Duval County, which makes it the most interesting Sub-Zero territory in the metro — and the most underserved by mainland outfits.
The result is a shop that knows this coast the way our salt-air survival guide reads: by street, by housing cohort, by what the last nor'easter did to the call log. When something breaks, start with the symptom pages or just put us on the calendar.

Fair questions about who you are hiring
Are you connected to Sub-Zero Group or its factory network?
No. We are an independent company with no affiliation, authorization, or certification from Sub-Zero Group, Inc. — and we put that in writing on every page. It matters in one practical way: units still under factory warranty should go to Factory Certified Service first, and we will tell you so on the phone before booking anything.
Will you work on my Wolf range or my other kitchen appliances?
No, and that is deliberate. Sub-Zero refrigeration is its own discipline — sealed systems, generation-specific boards, part revisions that bite generalists — and staying narrow is why our vans carry the right parts and our diagnoses hold up. For ranges, dishwashers, and the rest, a good generalist serves you better than we would.
Why call an independent instead of the factory line?
For out-of-warranty units, you trade nothing and gain locality. The factory-certified provider for Florida dispatches from the Tampa side of the state; we dispatch from the beach. Same OEM parts, flat written quotes, and a tech who already knows what salt fog does to a condenser on Ocean Boulevard because he cleaned one yesterday.
